Elizabeth Perkins: ‘Don’t tweet Barack when you don’t need responses’

We’re sorry we overlooked this the day before today, and we’re much more sorry to research that actress Elizabeth Perkins isn’t an avid Twitchy reader. If she had been, she’d understand that it —no matter it’s — is all about HIM, all the time. When astronaut Neil Armstrong died, @BarackObama marked the occasion with a photo of Barack Obama. The late Daniel Inouye was remembered with a photo of Barack Obama. The White House marked the Rosa Parks anniversary with a photo of Barack Obama. Pearl Harbor? Barack Obama.

Amy Lutz understands. Yesterday it was about same-sex marriage, and @BarackObama — the Twitter account that’s run by “independent organization” OFA but just happens to share the president’s name — tweeted a photo of Obama to promote #MarriageEquality.

RT if you stand with the millions of Americans fighting for #MarriageEquality. twitter.com/BarackObama/st…

— Barack Obama (@BarackObama) March 26, 2013

@barackobama IT’S NOT ABOUT YOU.

— Amy Lutz (@amylutz4) March 26, 2013

That tweet was enough for Perkins to declare Lutz “not the brightest bulb.”

@elizbethperkins @amylutz4 Everything, & I do mean everything @barackobama does is most definitely all about HIM

— Travis Thorne (@TravisThorne1) March 27, 2013

@elizbethperkins @amylutz4 the ‘evolution’ of @barackobama on this issue had more to do with losing campaign $$$ than basic equality

— Travis Thorne (@TravisThorne1) March 27, 2013

Damn. The Obama trolls are out in full force today.

— Amy Lutz (@amylutz4) March 26, 2013

“@amylutz4: Damn. The Obama trolls are out in full force today.” Yes. I’m a troll. But at least I’m not ignorant.

— Elizabeth Perkins (@Elizbethperkins) March 26, 2013

You know what they say about assuming, right? RT @elizbethperkins “@amylutz4: Yes. I’m a troll. But at least I’m not ignorant.

— Amy Lutz (@amylutz4) March 26, 2013

@amylutz4 based on your tweets, it’s not an assumption that you don’t believe in equal rights.

— Elizabeth Perkins (@Elizbethperkins) March 26, 2013

@elizbethperkins Interesting. You apparently missed my entire rant this morning about how marriage is not part of the fed gov’s purview

— Amy Lutz (@amylutz4) March 26, 2013

Perkins has some free advice for those who’d rather not be beset by Obama trolls like her: do not tweet Barack.

@amylutz4 and that’s exactly what ur doing. Mindless ranting. Don’t tweet Barack if u don’t want responses. Not unprovoked–a response.

— Elizabeth Perkins (@Elizbethperkins) March 26, 2013

@elizbethperkins Sarcasm must be a foreign language to you.

— Amy Lutz (@amylutz4) March 26, 2013

@amylutz4 and u just like attention. That’s obvious. Thank you for your contribution to marriage equality. My sarcasm is dripping……

— Elizabeth Perkins (@Elizbethperkins) March 26, 2013

@elizbethperkins Yep, that’s it. Funny how you’ve merely assumed my opinions instead of actually asking/doing your research

— Amy Lutz (@amylutz4) March 26, 2013

Do not tweet Barack, and do not engage Perkins. She’s done doing things for people’s amusement. She’s an actress, not an entertainer.

@amylutz4 well I’d be trolling ur timeline if I did that….done “engaging” for ur amusement.

— Elizabeth Perkins (@Elizbethperkins) March 27, 2013

Those are some aggressive tweets. She must have been really upset when that guy who opposed same-sex marriage was elected in 2008.
