(Reuters) – Boeing is shifting engineers away from its experimental X-66A plane program and other projects to help support its commercial development programs and speed up deliveries of existing jets, the Air Current reported on Thursday.
The X-66A project is NASA and Boeing’s first experimental plane focused on helping the U.S. achieve its goal of net-zero aviation greenhouse gas emissions.
According to the report, which cites an internal memo, the planemaker said it was important for it to meet the deliveries of its 737 and 777 jets.
Boeing did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for a comment.
